Looking to get away for a romantic escape, family staycation, some 'me-time' or a girly trip in Ireland, and would like to save a bit of cash in the process? The Irish government has announced its new Stay and Spend scheme.
A tax refund of up to €125 (through a tax credit) will be offered to tax payers who spend up to €625 on accommodation, food, and non-alcoholic drinks in hotels, restaurants and other qualifying businesses between October 1, 2020 and April 30, 2021.
Under the terms of the incentive:
- You must spend a minimum of €25 in a single transaction on qualifying expenditure and submit the receipt to Revenue
- You can submit receipts up to a total of €625, or €1,250 for a jointly-assessed married couple
- Revenue will provide an income tax credit of up to €125 per person, or up to €250 for a jointly-assessed married couple
Hopefully this will help our guests to have the opportunity to get out and see more of the country this year and to help stimulate the local economy and create long lasting memories with Neville Hotels.
The easiest way to claim is by downloading the Revenue Receipts Tracker App
The Revenue Receipts Tracker App (RRTA) is a free app which allows you upload images of your receipts to Revenue. You can manage your receipts and expenses on the go. It gives you quick and easy mobile access to record your receipts, provide details and keep track of your receipts.
